PREGNANT-TO-POSTPARTUM PROGRAM - INTRO PACKAGE
Prenatal Assessment: 60-minute in-person session w/ Dr. Carolyn Latham during your 2nd or 3rd trimester; pelvic floor assessment and exercise instruction for early postpartum time.
Weekly Informational Emails: Starting week-one after you give birth to recap weekly exercises, tips and tricks revolving around nutrition, childcare, self-care and of course, pelvic floor health.
Virtual Postpartum Session: 45-minute virtual session w/ Dr. Carolyn Latham [suggested] within 2 weeks of birth to address current symptoms as well as check-in on exercises and progress as needed.
Expectant mothers in France connect with a pelvic floor physical therapist for advice on how to return safely to physical activities and exercises after birth. In the US, pregnant and postpartum mothers are not given adequate resources on how to rehabilitate their bodies and many return to exercise and physical activities too quickly, potentially causing damage to their bodies. This damage may manifest as immediate incontinence or pain, pain or dysfunction with a subsequent pregnancy, or injury and dysfunction 5+ years later.
